ME
My aim is to create vibrant, playful and irreverent art that resonates with people.
I came to silk screen printing and painting later than most.
In the mid 90’s I moved to London, and as luck would have it, right into the buzz that was East London. The Brick Layers Arms, Blue Note, Plastic People, artists and designers, it was everything. I am still greatly influenced by my time in London, the people, the music, the vibe. It felt free.
Melbourne Australian came calling in 2003 and I moved there with my partner-in -crime and interior whizz, Clair Wayman. Clair went on to help launch the iconic Australian interiors magazine, ‘Real Living’ and I started a small t-shirt and homewares brand called Two Ruffians from my studio near the Yarra river in Richmond.
A few years later we chanced upon a small vacant shop that was up for grabs in a country town called Flinders, just outside Melbourne. We took it and launched Curio & Curio a bright and bold homewares label.
At the time we were one of only a handful of brands that were printing, making and selling our own designs in Australia, without the need to manufacture overseas, and with a bricks and mortar shop. Sports stars, pop stars and nice members of the general public bought our designs. Magazine features were written about us and we even got interviewed in our shop, by a South American super model for a design segment on Channel 9’s Postcards. We road the wave.
Now back in the UK and after a stint back in the corporate world, I am back doing what I love.
I have sold my art all over the world, including to a chain of cool stores in Mexico, and they paid upfront!
My work has appeared in magazines such as Living Etc, Frankie, Real Living, Country Style, Madison, Home Beautiful, Stella and You (Mail on Sunday).
We’ve appeared on lifestyle blogs such as Bright Bazaar and The Design Files, plus our product has been featured on TV shows including The Block Australia and Love It Or List It UK with Kirsty and Phil.
Never ever give up!
